Leighton Bennett born in Lincoln in 2005 uses the nickname BOOM BOOM!
Leighton won the 2018 Cambridgeshire open aged just 12 beating Ricky Evans in the semi-final and Rhys Hayden in the final. In 2019 he was crowned the BDO world youth champion beating fellow Elite 1 player Nathan Girvan 3-0 in the final. Since then, playing in the men’s tournaments he has reached the final of the Luxembourg Open and semi-finals in the Welsh, French, German, Antwerp and Polish Opens.
Leighton was the youngest player to compete in the BDO Men’s World Championship in 2020 where he reached the last 32 and he was the only player to date to compete in both the mens and the youth world championship in the same year.
In 2022 Leighton was runner up in the WDF Boys Youth Championship.
Leighton has already won 9 JDC tour titles and has represented England in the JDC and for the England Darts Organisation. In January 2022 Leighton competed in the PDC Q school for the first time picking up valuable points for the order of merit, he plays regularly on the Challenge Tour, Development Tour and has even had a go on the Pro Tour.
