PDC World Darts Masters 2025 Preliminary Round Explained


Under the rebrand of the PDC World Masters, a preliminary round has been introduced. Over 128 competitors from the PDC and affiliate tours will compete to qualify for the World Darts Masters. Will there be a surprise winner in the preliminary round, or will the usual suspects make their way to round 1?

The 2025 PDC World Darts Master Preliminary Round will take place on Wednesday the 29th of January and will finish on Wednesday the 29th of January.

The preliminary round will be held at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.

The 2025 PDC Darts Masters Preliminary Round will be broadcast live on PDCTV from noon on Wednesday the 29th of January.
What is the format for the 2025 PDC World Darts Masters preliminary rounds?
The players in the PDC Order of Merit ranked 25-56 will receive automatic qualification to the preliminary rounds last 64 and those 32 players will be joined by 32 group winners from a round-robin group stage of all other players.
The tournament will then become a straight knockout after 64 players remain till there are eight players left and then these eight players will enter the first round of the 2025 PDC World Darts Masters tournament.
The Preliminary Rounds will be a best of 3 sets, best of 3 legs per set.
Who gets invited to the 2025 PDC World Darts Masters preliminary rounds?
The preliminary rounds will see the players ranked from 25-56 on the PDC Order of Merit and the rest of the field includes all PDC tour card holders ranked 57 and below, along with the secondary and affiliated tour players.
