Elite1 Round Up January 2025

The first month of 2025 has been an exciting and eventful one for our Elite 1, Pathway players, and Academies. There have been impressive performances, new signings, and significant progress across the board. Here’s a quick round-up of everything that’s happened this January!

January was a month of success and progress for our Elite 1 players. Here’s a look at some of the standouts:

• Mitchell Lawrie claimed victory in the JDC Scotland Gibraltar Qualifiers (1, 2, 3, 4, and 6). His dominant performances earned him a place on the Scotland Boys Team for the British Internationals.
• Owen Bryceland showed exceptional skill, reaching the semi-finals in JDC Scotland Gibraltar Qualifiers 1 & 2 and making it to the final in Qualifier 3, where he lost to fellow Elite 1, Mitchell Lawrie. Despite these close calls, Owen triumphed in Events 5, 7, & 8.
• Arthur Allston showcased his prowess by winning the Sudbury Darts Academy Grand Prix 2.
• Nathan Girvan had a great run, with some fantastic performances, at PDC Q School.
• James Beeton made it to stage 2 of PDC Q School, finishing 18th overall. He also reached the semi-finals of the WDF Las Vegas Open, a gold-ranked event, and the quarterfinals of the WDF Las Vegas Classic.
• Sophie McKinlay participated in the 2nd Women’s Week at the Modus Super Series and has been selected to represent Scotland at the British Internationals in the Ladies' team. Her impressive performance at the WDF Romanian Open saw her reach the final.
• Paige Pauling, also part of the Modus Super Series, has earned a spot in the England Youth and Ladies' teams for the British Internationals.
• James Beeton & Jenson Walker triumphed in the WDF Las Vegas Open Men's Doubles Cricket, while Jenson Walker reached the semi-finals of the WDF Las Vegas Classic Doubles 501 Tournament. Jenson also went on to win the WDF Romanian Men’s Pairs.
• Jayden Fitzgerald made waves by reaching the final of the Carlow Challenge Under 18’s Cup.
• Mason Teese, Oliver Haughan, Mitchell Lawrie, Joseph Westby, Owen Bryceland, and Pathway Player, Jayden Walker, have all been shortlisted for the JDC Power League. Mitchell Lawrie & Jayden Walker were selected to play in the JDC Power League, from the shortlist. 
• Seth Steffano clinched the win in the Bullshooter Ohio Mixed Doubles Cricket.
• Our Elite 1 representatives at JDC Q School, Arthur Allston and Lennon Wharf, both had strong showings with Arthur finishing 19th on the rankings, while Lennon placed 83rd in a field of over 180 entries!

Our Pathway players have been making great strides in their development, and January 2025 was no different. Here's what they’ve been up to:

• 8 Pathway players entered JDC Q School, with 6 of them finishing in the top half of the rankings.
• Ben Proudfoot made his debut for Suffolk County Youth, playing a reserve match and securing a win with a solid 22 average. He was selected for the squad and won his first match in the county team.
• Jayden Walker shone by reaching the quarter-final in JDC Q School Event 1 and the final of Event 3, earning his Advanced Tour Card for 2025.
• Lennox Sutherland reached the quarterfinals of the WDF Las Vegas Open Boys competition.
• Lee Bradshaw secured his Advanced Tour Card for 2025, finishing 5th on the JDC Q School rankings.

The journey in 2025 is just beginning, and we have much to look forward to in the months ahead. We’re thrilled with the progress of all our players, both Elite 1 and Pathway, and excited to continue nurturing the next generation of darts stars.
