Taibach Youth Darts Academy Joins Target's Elite 1!

We are thrilled to announce that Taibach Youth Darts Academy will has officially joined the prestigious Target Darts Elite 1 Affiliated Academy Programme!

Founded in June 2024, Taibach Youth Darts Academy has quickly grown to over 30 enthusiastic young members, and that number continues to rise. The academy meets every Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM, welcoming players aged 8 to 16, with plans to extend this to 18-year-olds as current members grow with the program.

What sets Taibach apart is its friendly, inclusive atmosphere where fun and development go together. Many players have built friendships that stretch beyond the oche, creating a supportive and social environment for all.

A key driver of the academy’s success is its structured training programme, led by qualified and DBS-certified teachers. Young players are taught more than just darts, like respect, sportsmanship and the basics of darts, like the mechanics of a great throw, and scoring skills.

Already making waves in the darts community, eleven members have progressed to senior leagues by the age of 14. In September 2024, the academy hosted a highly successful Open Tournament, drawing 60-plus competitors across three youth categories.

Simon Purchase, Head of Taibach Youth Darts Academy, shared his excitement about the new partnership:

As part of the Elite 1 Programme, Taibach Youth Darts Academy will receive state-of-the-art equipment, access to expert resources, and ongoing mentorship, all designed to elevate the playing and learning experience for its now 30+ young members.
