Target Darts Announces Charity Partnership With Alex TLC
Target Darts is proud to announce its official charity partnership with Alex, The Leukodystrophy Charity (Alex TLC), a vital UK-based organisation providing invaluable support, information and hope to families affected by leukodystrophy.
This partnership holds a deeply personal meaning for Target and has been launched to honour Lily, the two-year-old daughter of Emily Heasman, Head of Product at Target.
In August 2024, Lily was diagnosed with leukodystrophy – a rare, life-limiting genetic disorder that affects the brain and spinal cord. Lily is sadly not expected to live beyond the age of eight.
“Alex TLC has become a lifeline for our family since Lily’s diagnosis. I’m incredibly proud that Target Darts is supporting a charity so close to my heart, and I hope our efforts can make a real difference for other families facing leukodystrophy”, said Emily, Head of Product at Target.
In response, Target will be raising awareness and funds for Alex TLC’s essential work, helping families navigate the challenges of this devastating disease.
On Saturday 12th April, Target brought together staff, supporters, and the wider community in a family-fun day at their new offices in Harlow, Essex, raising £1,200 already for Alex TLC, to be added to with future initiatives including:
- A Three Peaks Challenge, with key Target team-members tackling the UK’s highest peaks in a single mission.
- A 24-hour darts marathon, pushing limits in the spirit of support and endurance.
- Ongoing fundraising through product sales and special campaigns, all designed to support Alex TLC’s impactful work.
At the event, James Tattersall, Managing Director at Target, said: “When we learned about Lily’s diagnosis, we knew we had to do more. Partnering with Alex TLC is our way of standing beside Emily, her family and every family affected by this cruel condition.
“As a team, we’re determined to raise as much awareness and money as possible for this vital cause - and we warmly encourage our partners, associates, and the wider darts community to support and donate where they can.”

Alex TLC is the only UK charity dedicated to all leukodystrophies, providing expert guidance and advocacy alongside supporting research to improve diagnosis, treatment, and ultimately, find a cure.
