Luke Littler Wins Grand Slam of Darts
Luke Littler is the 2024 Grand Slam Champion!
The 17-year-old sensation's debut campaign has continued to be one of a kind after winning the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts.
This remarkable teenage sensation delivered an extraordinary performance throughout the tournament, concluding with an impressive 107 average in the final match.
Notably, he became only the third player in history to average over 100 in every match he played.
At the age of 17, “The Nuke” broke even more impressive records, accumulating an astonishing 60 180s and skyrocketing to world number 5 in just 10 months.
However, Littler's journey to the top was not without challenges. In the round of 16, he encountered a thrilling battle against 2024 Grand Prix winner Mike De Decker. Overcoming a daunting 8-4 deficit, he showcased incredible determination, ultimately winning 10-9.
In the semi-final, the Warrington wunderkind faced Gary Anderson in an epic 31-leg match. Despite being down 13-9, Littler rallied to emerge victorious with a 103 average and 16 maximums.
By the time of the final, Littler was simply unstoppable, claiming a commanding 16-3 victory over Martin Lukeman.
When speaking to Sky Sports Luke Littler had this to say about his win "This is one of the ones I wanted to win. My major record isn't the best, but it's OK now. I wanted to come here and go deep. It's even better now I've done it, it shows I'm still here."
Because of this win, Littler has moved the bookies' favourite for the World Championships and with the Players Championship Finals around the corner the 17-year-old could be moving further up than his 5th place in the PDC Order of Merit.
