JOHN O'SHEA

John O'Shea, a seasoned professional darts player, has dedicated over 34 years to the sport, accumulating an impressive array of titles both at home and abroad. With more than 100 national titles to his name, O'Shea's career is a testament to his passion and perseverance. His major achievements include winning the prestigious Irish Masters in 2015 and 2018, as well as a WDF Bronze Medal at the European Cup for Ireland in 2018.

Representing Ireland on the international stage was always a dream for ‘The Joker’, and wearing his country’s colours remains one of his proudest accomplishments. Despite facing the challenging condition of dartitis for over five years, John never let it hold him back. His ability to continue competing at the highest level through this period was a victory in itself, and his return to form saw him clinch numerous big victories.

In 2016, John made it to the Last 8 of the World Masters, and just three years later, he returned to claim the title from the floor in a remarkable feat. His crowning achievement came in 2019, when he became the first Irishman to win a TV major, triumphing at the World Masters held at the legendary Circus Tavern. To be part of that iconic moment cemented his place in darts history.

John’s career has seen him play on some of the most famous stages in the world of darts, including Alexandra Palace, Lakeside, the O2 London, and the Circus Tavern. Another milestone came in 2021, when he earned his professional tour card, marking another dream come true for the Irish darts star.

John is quick to acknowledge the importance of his family in his success. His wife, Laura, and their children have been his support system throughout the highs and lows of his career.

Additionally, he’s branching out into coaching and mentoring, working with the PDC/PDPA to inspire and guide the next generation of darts talent. Through all his triumphs and challenges, John’s journey is one of perseverance, passion, and dedication to the sport of darts.
