Katie Sheldon Graduates from Elite 1

Target Darts is thrilled to announce that Katie Sheldon, one of our brightest prospects, has graduated from the Elite 1 programme and has become a professional player in the world of darts. She joins the likes of John Brown, Bradley Brooks and fellow Irishman Keane Barry to take that step up and join #TeamTarget as a fully-fledged Pro Player. 

Katie has been performing exceptionally well in the Women's Series, and we are delighted to see her take the next step in her career. Katie's impressive performances have not gone unnoticed. In July last year, she was just 1 of 8 women that made their debut appearances at the first-ever Women's World Matchplay, where she showcased her talent and determination. We are proud to have supported her journey so far and are excited to continue supporting her as she takes on new challenges. 

As a company that is passionate about our darts, we are always looking for new talent and ways to help players achieve their potential. Our Elite 1 programme is designed to provide talented players with the resources and support they need to take their game to the next level. Katie is a testament to the success of this programme, and we are proud to have played a part in her development. 

Head of Youth Development Lorraine Winstanley, who was also present at the World Matchplay, has heaped praise on Katie, who she had taken under her wing in the Elite 1 saying;

“It’s a bitter sweet moment for me as Katie 100% deserves the step up to being a Pro Player and she’s more than talented enough and put in the hard work to get to where she is, I’m going to miss having her in the Elite 1. I know she’s going to keep on improving and I’ll keep following her career and giving her support as often as I can. Congratulations Katie!”
