WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE WORLD MATCHPLAY 2025?

- First Round - First to 10 Legs
- Second Round - First to 11 Legs
- Quarter-Finals - First to 16 Legs
- Semi-Finals - First to 17 Legs
- Final First - to 18 Legs

The World Matchplay Darts has a slightly different format to most Darts tournaments; all games must be won by two clear legs, no matter what round the game is being played in.

If no one is winning by two clear legs, then the game will be extended by a maximum of six extra legs before a sudden-death leg is required to decide the game.

For example, in a first-round match which is first to 10 legs, a player can win 10-8 to win outright. Sudden death is introduced if neither player has a 2-leg advantage by the time the score reaches 12-12.
