WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE WORLD MATCHPLAY 2025?
- First Round - First to 10 Legs Â
- Second Round - First to 11 Legs Â
- Quarter-Finals - First to 16 Legs Â
- Semi-Finals - First to 17 Legs  Â
- Final First - to 18 Legs Â
The World Matchplay Darts has a slightly different format to most Darts tournaments; all games must be won by two clear legs, no matter what round the game is being played in.
Â
If no one is winning by two clear legs, then the game will be extended by a maximum of six extra legs before a sudden-death leg is required to decide the game.Â
For example, in a first-round match which is first to 10 legs, a player can win 10-8 to win outright. Sudden death is introduced if neither player has a 2-leg advantage by the time the score reaches 12-12.Â
