DECLAN MAINWARING

Declan Mainwaring is a highly promising 16-year-old talent and a proud member of the Target Darts Elite 1 Programme. Introduced to darts at the age of six, the sport has always been part of his life, with his father competing in Super League darts and inspiring Declan’s early development.

By 10, Declan had already hit his first 180, and at 14 he began to focus seriously on competition. In December 2024, he made history at Blackburn Darts Academy by hitting his first 9-darter, becoming the first player in the academy to achieve the feat, finishing on his favourite double, D12.

Declan has already built an impressive youth CV, including wins at the Blackburn Youth Open, an ADC Vault at Boundary Park Darts Academy, a Foundations Tour title, a pairs win in Preston, and three further ADC victories at Staley Vegas Sports Bar. He has also reached the final of the Lancashire Elite Super 8’s.

Known for his strong finishing on D16 and D12, Declan currently throws Bolide 1, 23g darts with a short black K-Flex setup and 35mm points. Inspired by Stephen Bunting, his ultimate ambition is to one day lift the PDC World Championship trophy.

Joining Elite 1 marks an important step in Declan’s journey, providing him with the platform to continue his rapid rise in the sport.
