World Darts Championship 2025
2024 has been a resurgent year for interest in darts, and it all started 12 months ago at the World Darts Championship. A 16-year-old Luke Littler took the tournament by storm and almost finished as champion. Since then, the story of 'The Nuke' has elevated interest in darts to an all-time high, and once again, we find ourselves on the precipice of the biggest tournament in the darts calendar, but with a completely different landscape.
A year on from that defining tournament, we wait as the 2025 instalment gets underway. The bright young spark now enters this year's World Darts Championship ranked 4th in the PDC Order of Merit and is the favourite to go one step further and take the title.
Where & When is the World Darts Championship 2025?
The World Darts Championship is one of the biggest tournaments in the darts calendar. It begins on Sunday 15th December with the final taking place on Friday the 3rd of January 2025.
The tournament will take place at Alexandar Palace, London in the venue’s West Hall, which has a capacity of 3,200.
Can I still get tickets for the 2025 World Darts Championship?
The 2025 World Darts Championship experienced unprecedented demand, and tickets were all sold out by the end of July. If you want tickets, you may have to pay over the odds to get one.

Coverage of the World Darts Championship is live on the dedicated Sky Sports Darts channel & certain sessions will also be shown on Sky Main Event.
What is the format for the World Darts Championship?
The PDC World Darts Championship use a set-play format, which is similar to tennis. However, unlike tennis, a player needs to win three legs to claim the set and as the tournament progresses the number of sets per match steadily increases throughout the tournament.
From the second round onwards, the deciding set needs to be won by two clear legs.

Who has qualified for the World Darts Championship?
There will be 96 players from all over the globe taking part in the 2025 PDC World Championships.
There are 64 qualifiers – 32 from the ProTour Order of Merit Qualifiers and 32 from International Qualifiers that make it to the PDC World Championship. These players will take part in the first round for the chance to face one of the 32 leading players on the PDC Order of Merit in the second round.
