West Midlands Junior Darts Academy Joins Target's Elite 1!

Based in the heart of the West Midlands, West Midlands Junior Darts Academy has officially joined the Target Darts Academy programme, becoming the latest academy recognised for its commitment to developing the next generation of darting talent.

Led by Martyn Harper and operating from Allens Bar in Tipton, the academy has built an incredible reputation since launching in March 2018. With more than 45 active members aged between 6 and 18, the academy has become one of the region’s leading environments for young players to learn, improve, and grow both on and off the oche.

Meeting every Sunday from 5pm–8:30pm, the academy places a huge emphasis on respect, positivity, etiquette, and team spirit. Through group-based practice routines and structured coaching sessions, players are encouraged to support one another while developing their individual skills.

What truly sets West Midlands Junior Darts Academy apart is the scale and quality of its setup. The academy offers nine separate throws, including a full stage throw experience, alongside advanced and development boards tailored to every ability level. Players also benefit from weekly competitions, trophies, medals, and access to DartConnect for advanced-level knockout events.

The academy’s coaching team combines experience and passion, including former academy players who have returned to help coach the next generation. Their success speaks for itself, with several players representing England in the JDC World Cup of Darts and competing at the JDC World Championships in recent years.

Widely regarded as one of the strongest junior setups in the country, West Midlands Junior Darts Academy continues to create opportunities for young players to thrive in a positive, ambitious environment.
