At Target Darts we pride ourselves in bringing fresh design, quality and innovation to everyone who loves the sport. Our team at Target are made up of amazing individuals who each have their own ideas and unique skill set. We brainstorm, we encourage creativity, and we laugh at some of the suggestions. But it is those same suggestions that may also make it all the way to production. We work together as one, we are TeamTarget.

This week we kick off a series that looks inside the four walls to take a closer look at the great people behind the brand.

Meet Jordan Baker - Head of Sales.

How many years have you worked at Target Darts?

I started here in February 2015, so this is my seventh year! I started as an Account Manager and have grown as the company has.

What does your job entail?

As Head of Sales, I am responsible for sales growth and for helping ensure Target Darts remains the no.1 darts brand in the world. There is always a huge number of projects on the go and there is never a quiet day in the office, whether that is organising our latest product launch or discussing ideas with our partners. I love the fact that every day is different.

Why did you choose to work at Target Darts?

I have always had a keen interest in the sports industry and the FMCG sector so it was a no brainer for me when the opportunity arose.

What makes Target Darts a great place to work?

There is a huge amount to enjoy here. Target is a company that doesn't rest on its laurels. We continue to be constantly innovative to drive the darts industry forward which is satisfying both personally and professionally.

We are also known for taking team trips to Ibiza & Dubai which also helps!

How is Target Darts helping with your personal development?

We are a close-knit team where all departments work in sync with each other. Over the years I have been fortunate to gain invaluable experience in other areas of the business which have helped me massively. From learning about product development and the manufacturing processes, to what is needed to bring a product to market. Each of these divisions are interesting in their own right and it has given me insight into the wider company.

What is your ultimate career goal?

Right now, I am focussed on my new role as Head of Sales and am driven to make a success of that. There is no doubt that I want to continue to develop and become more senior within the business. Who knows what opportunities may present itself in the years to come and I am excited to see!

Have you always been a darts fan? If not are you one now?

I was a fan of the sport before working here but being involved in it made me a bigger one! It is a lot more interesting once you get to know the players and understand everything from behind the scenes! My appreciation for how skilled the professionals are has only increased since working here.

What is it like working in the darts industry?

It is exciting, challenging and ever changing. Just within my time in the industry, I have seen huge changes and developments and there is no sign of things slowing down! I think the industry is only going upwards and I am looking forward to seeing what future challenges lie ahead.

How do you keep up with the fast pace of this industry?

I really do enjoy the fast-paced nature, it drives me to get up in the morning and makes me eager to start work. No one wants a boring day at work.

What has been your favourite moment at Target Darts?

Apart from me being the lead actor in Target's first TV advert or being a last-minute fisherman at the Target Fishing competition (!), I have to say the best moment for me was having a beer with fellow Target Staff at the 'Target Cologne Masters'. We sold out a huge arena of over 9,000 people and it was a hugely impressive and cool thing to witness.
