Target's Elite 1 training and mentoring system has grown over recent years to include the finest young talents in the game from across the world, incorporating title winners and world champions from the various youth systems in the sport.
Headed-up by BDO legend Darryl Fitton, Elite 1 aims to give our young stars the tools with which to make the best start to their darting careers. However, it is only a platform from which they can jump off - and three of our team are now graduating to become senior members of Team Target in their own right.
Keane Barry, Bradley Brooks and Jarred Cole are all making the move this month, after being integral parts of the Elite 1 setup. All three have tasted success in youth darts and have had a taste of life in the senior PDC ranks.
Jarred, a 20-year-old from Hertfordshire, earned his spot on the PDC circuit thanks to his success in the Junior Darts Corporation, and reached a ranking quarter-final within six months. Despite being unable to retain his Tour Card at the start of this year, he has been competing on the Challenge and Development Tours as he aims to make his return in 2021.
Bradley, from Blackburn, is the same age as Jarred and managed to win back his Tour Card in January. He reached his first ranking quarter-final on the same weekend as Jarred and has followed in the footsteps of fellow Target stars Nathan Aspinall, Corey Cadby and Ricky Evans by reaching the PDC World Youth Championship Final. Bradley could be crowned champion later this month when he faces Joe Davis at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Keane Barry is the teenage sensation from Duleek in Ireland whose rise over the last two years has seen him capture the attention of darts fans worldwide. The 18-year-old is the current holder of both the BDO and JDC World Youth titles, and his success this year on the PDC youth circuit has earned him his senior Tour Card for 2021.
Congratulations to Jarred, Bradley and Keane for graduating from the Elite 1 programme! The three rising stars are at slightly different stages of their darts careers, but each have all benefited and from the support of the Elite 1 programme and exceled in their game. They will all still receive all the support they need to continue their progress as part of #TeamTarget, but now is the time for them to do so in the senior ranks.
