Scott Williams Signs With Team Target

We are extremely excited to be introducing Team Target's latest arrival, Scott Williams. 'Shaggy' will now line up alongside some of the biggest names in darts and told us "It's incredible to be here, this wasn't something I expected to do anytime soon, but I know Target is the best brand around so I am absolutely over the moon."

Scott recently made the headlines after claiming consecutive Challenge Tour titles on the opening day of the season, an achievement that has earned him a reserve spot on the PDC Pro Tour this weekend. Scott's strong start to the 2022 campaign has left him top of the Order of Merit with an impressive £4050 to his name. "I was speaking to my wife the night before and was joking with her saying that I would win both events on the Friday, I just felt so calm and had a feeling I was going to do well."

The London born darts player has only been chucking tungsten for the last 6 years but has already shown huge potential with an appearance at the BDO World Championship as well as featuring on the Pro Tour a handful of times in 2020. When talking about his rapid rise in darts he said "It has been hard because where I am from isn't a hugely competitive darts environment, I have always had to push myself and eventually I began competing for county and then in the super league. The biggest impact on my career came when I met Rob Cross, I have been lucky enough to train and learn from him which has really helped me to push to the next level."

'Shaggy' has competed at Q-School on several occasions but has yet to really find his rhythm when competing for his Tour Card, he managed some promising runs towards the back end of the 2022 event but unfortunately left it too late to claw his way back to a place on the pro circuit. "Q-School is a very difficult tournament, it wasn't my best run this year but we go again we progress and hopefully if the rest of the year all goes to plan, I won't have to go back to Q-School."

Target's Managing Director James Tattersall said "Scott Is a brilliant addition to the team, he showed what he is capable of at the UK Challenge Tour this year and we cannot wait to see him make his ascend to the top."

Welcome to #TeamTarget Scott, we look forward to working with you
