We are delighted to announce that Raymond van Barneveld has extended his contract with Target Darts. The former world champion who announced his return to darts back in September says he feels 'over the moon' to be a part of a team that are committed to supporting him through this new chapter of his career.
RvB has been the name on every darts fans' lips this year as he made a spectacular return to the oche back in February that started with a trip to Niedernhausen to compete at this year's European Q-School. The Dutchman inevitably was handed his Tour Card after a steady showing in the early stages of the event that was then followed by a final day demolition that secured him a 3rd place finish on the Order of Merit table.
It didn't take Raymond long to settle on the Pro Tour as he picked up his first title just 3 days into the Player Championships after producing some vintage van Barneveld performances that ended with a captivating 8-6 win against Joe Cullen in the final.
Raymond will now have his focus fixed firmly on the World Matchplay in July, a lot of work needs to be done before then in order for him to book a place at the Winter Gardens but nothing is impossible for the 5x World Champion.
Target's Managing Director James Tattersall is ecstatic with the new signing and said "It's been incredible working with Raymond over the years and we fully support him on this comeback journey. It's great seeing Ray play at the highest level again and the results he's had shows that this 5 x World Champion has plenty more to give to his fans."
