Dan Dawson catches up with Rob 'Voltage' Cross following his Premier League draw
Target's Rob Cross produced an average of 103.57, but had to settle for a 6-6 draw on the opening night of the Premier League in Newcastle.
The world number two took advantage of a slow start by former finalist Peter Wright to move 3-1 up, but then saw his opponent click into gear and had to survive a match dart before winning the 12th and final leg.
"If you looked at me last weekend, I'm sharpening up all the time," said the 2017 World Champion; "I'm feeling better and feeling more confident.
"I'm looking forward to this - the Premier League, the ProTours - and I'm looking forward to being tested and being pushed."
The evening had begun at the Utilita Arena with Target's Raymond van Barneveld embarking on his final Premier League campaign before retirement, taking on James Wade.
Five-time World Champion "Barney" had the upper hand in the middle of the game, but after missing three darts for a 5-3 lead, he saw Wade clinically take the remaining legs to win 7-4.
The action switches to Glasgow next Thursday where it is Cross's turn to take on Wade, while "Barney" faces Grand Slam Champion Gerwyn Price.
You can watch the action live on Sky Sports in the UK and worldwide via the PDC's broadcast partners.
