Target are delighted to announce that Michael Flynn has joined us as the newest member of #TeamTarget.

"Signing with Target is a huge honour for me. It was never something I would have imagined would happen, it's very exciting and I am delighted to be part of the team." Picking up a dart for the first time at 18 years old, with only the knowledge of Phil Taylor and a dartboard that wasn't set up properly, it's been an interesting journey for new Team Target member Michael Flynn.

"When I first started watching darts the only person I knew was Phil Taylor and now being apart of the same team as him is hard to believe. It would fill you with confidence." The County Limerick man takes part in the local darts community, proud of the way the game is going in Ireland. "Darts in Ireland is getting bigger and better every year. I play locally with Moore's Bar in Carrigkeery on a team. I play in a singles league every Wednesday in Listowel in Christy's the well bar and I play in the track bar in Limerick City in a singles league. It's playing in these every week that's gotten me to where I am now. Playing different players 3 times a week helps me to learn and improve."

It was in 2020 that he decided to give Q school a try. He didn't go with any intention of rustling any feathers, but instead found himself in the quarter final, narrowly missing out 6-5. His opponent went on to win his tour card that day.

Outside of darts Michael has a full time job in Social Care as well as being into some fairly unique sports. "I have many interests and hobbies outside of darts but my main interest has to be GAA. I love playing Hurling with my club St Kieran's as well. It's probably not the most ideal hobby to have for a darts player."

Michael hopes to push on, playing in as many tournaments as he can to make his career in darts a long and successful one, one of his big targets is to play in Q School in 2023. He's already played in two Players Championships earlier this year and we're really looking forward to seeing how he can elevate his game even more.

Managing Director James Tattersall was delighted to see Michael signing with Target saying "A huge welcome to Team Target to Michael, we're really looking forward to seeing what you achieve in the next year and we'll support you as much as we can to help you reach your goals."

Welcome to Team Target, Michael!
