PBC Darts Youth Academy joins the Target Darts Academy network
Target Darts is proud to welcome PBC Darts Youth Academy to its growing network of academies, continuing its commitment to supporting and developing young darts talent across the UK.
Based at The Kings’ Arms in Bournemouth and led by Alison Fudge, the academy has made an immediate impact since launching in November 2025. With 60 members aged between 5 and 18, it has quickly become a vibrant and inclusive environment for young players to learn and enjoy the sport.
The academy meets twice a week, on Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm and Saturdays from 11am to 1pm, providing structured sessions that focus on both development and enjoyment. Players of all abilities are welcomed, from complete beginners learning how to throw for the first time to more experienced players looking to refine their skills.
Coaching at PBC Darts Youth Academy covers all areas of the game. Players work on their throwing technique, accuracy, doubles practice, and scoring consistency, while also learning how to count and check out without the use of auto scorers. Sessions also introduce tournament formats to help players gain confidence in competitive environments. Training boards and focus foams are used to improve precision, and careful attention is given to ensuring each player uses the right weight and size of darts for their individual needs.
What makes the academy stand out is its strong focus on creating a positive and supportive atmosphere. Fun is at the centre of everything they do, with no pressure placed on players beyond learning and enjoying the game. The academy promotes confidence, teamwork, and social development, with older players often supporting younger members. A zero tolerance approach to bullying ensures a safe space for everyone, and each session includes recognition of progress, alongside celebrations such as birthdays and monthly prizes for goals achieved.
Despite being a new academy, PBC has already seen impressive early success. One of its players is currently competing on the Foundation Tour, while several others have taken part in the Youth Grand Prix. One player has already progressed beyond the group stages in their first major tournament of the year, highlighting the strong foundation the academy is building.
Speaking on the new partnership, Alison Fudge said, “We are absolutely delighted for PBC Darts Youth Academy to be working with Target. As one of the newest academies in the south, this partnership is a huge step forward for us. Our aim has always been to help children of all abilities grow in confidence, both in their darts and socially. Being part of the Target Academy network will allow us to continue building something special for our young players.”
PBC Darts Youth Academy represents everything the Target Academy programme stands for, providing opportunities, building confidence, and inspiring the next generation. Target Darts looks forward to supporting Alison and her team as they continue to grow and make a lasting impact in their community.
Welcome to the Target family.
