The opening day of PDC Pro Tour action of 2021 saw Target's Nathan Aspinall reach the semi-finals, whilst fellow Target stars Rob Cross and Gabriel Clemens also reach the quarters of Players Championship 1.
"The Asp" had registered victories against Jelle Klaasen and Rob Cross in his run in Bolton, before being beaten by the eventual champion Joe Cullen.
German number one Clemens also saw his challenge brought to an end by Cullen, having missed a dart to force a last leg decider.
There were impressive performances from two of Target's young stars, with Irish teenager Keane Barry reaching the last 16 before losing out to Clemens, and 19-year-old Elite-1 talent Lewy Williams making a stunning Pro Tour debut - beating Michael van Gerwen in his run to the last 16.
The day was also significant for the return of Target's five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld, playing in his first ranking event since coming out of retirement.
"Barney" was pitted against another member of Team Target in the first round, as recent World Championship semi-finalist Stephen Bunting went head-to-head with the legendary Dutchman.
Only one man could progress (match below) - and it was "The Bullet", who held off an impressive fightback from Van Barneveld, only to see his day conclude in round two with defeat to Kirk Shepherd.
The field of 128 players returns today for Players Championship 2 (the second of four consecutive days of Pro Tour action from Bolton), with the action streamed live and worldwide via PDC TV.
