What Happened in the 2024 Austrailan Darts Masters?
Before diving into this year’s action, it is worth looking back at 2024 when the Australian Darts Masters made its debut in Wollongong.
Gerwyn Price claimed the title in dominant fashion, defeating 17-year-old Luke Littler 8 to 1 in the final. Price averaged 99.42 and finished with a clinical 53 percent checkout rate, making it clear why he remains one of the most dangerous players in the sport.
Littler impressed throughout the event, reaching the final after a dramatic 7 to 6 semi-final win over Dimitri Van den Bergh. Although the final was one-sided, his performances throughout the tournament confirmed his status as one of darts’ most exciting young talents.
The event featured eight Oceanic qualifiers, including Simon Whitlock, Haupai Puha and Rob Modra. None made it past the opening round, though Haupai Puha came close, taking Rob Cross to a deciding leg.
With a passionate crowd, competitive matches and standout performances, the 2024 edition delivered a strong start for the tournament. Now, in 2025, all eyes are on the players to see who will rise to the challenge.
